Untitled (18 Faces on Canvas) examines the distortion of identity under algorithmic systems of beauty. Eighteen AI-generated variations of the same face are each individually screenprinted by the artist onto a painted canvas that fades from left to right, evoking the gradual disappearance of individuality. Referencing influencer culture and face-altering apps, the piece reflects on how digital platforms promote a homogenized beauty ideal—prioritizing conformity and visibility over authenticity. Positioned at the intersection of technology, self-representation, and gendered systems of control, the work critiques the commodification of identity in an era where selfhood is increasingly shaped by algorithmic norms and aesthetic repetition.
