M1 White

M1 White is a narrow, frieze-shaped canvas of layered screen printed conspiracy-themed meme symbols.  Concentrated at the center of the canvas, the dense cluster of aggregate signs, symbols, and texts used in memes resemble the frenzy of a wartime battle. Here they are presented as reduced symbols now just black shadows of their once powerful messaging, with an intention to aid the viewer in comprehending the phenomenon while removing each symbol’s persuasiveness. Both the repetition and density of the layering are meant to signify the abundance and power of memes used for war.
